Using free resources such as GNU/Linux, Firefox and Gimp we can create free culture and contribute to the commons.

Operating System (OS)

GNU/Linux OS

Is a free operating system which was developed by Richard Stallman and Linus Torvalds. For the workshops we will use the Ubuntu version of Linux which comes with Firefox and Gimp pre-installed.

GNU/Linux OS USB

You can download Ubuntu and the Universal USB installer and create a USB flash memory stick that you can use (boot) in any Intel based computer.

Free Software

Firefox

Firefox is a free open source web browser that can be installed in PC, Mac or Linux machines. With Firefox we will navigate the web in search of free resources. Download Firefox.

Audacity

It’s an awesome free sound recording and editing program for PC, Mac or Linux which is perfect for making and remixing songs. Download Audacity and practice your skills with these tutorials.

Gimp

It’s a super cool free image editing program for PC, Mac or Linux which is perfect for painting, image editing, photo retouching and image composition. Download Gimp and practice your skills with these cool tutorials.
